Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):
Q. “My firm already has our assets listed on a computer system. Can we copy the data from this, into VibeCalc?”
A. Yes, you can. Import/upload your legacy data easily, in a batch, using our batch upload feature. You copy your asset data off your spreadsheet or database, into our Excel template spreadsheet, and upload it. Yay!
Q. “What if I want to use it offline?”
A: Almost all smartphones are HTML5-compatible. This offers offline capability. Before you go somewhere with no signal, select which assets you want to log ‘offline’ exposure for, and save them for offline use onto your handset. You can then access this data from your browser, even when you are offline. Your phone will upload this data when you return to a wifi spot or an area with signal.
Q. “What support do you offer? Is there a helpline? Can you provide training?”
A. See our resources page. If you’re using the mobile version of the site, there is also contextual guidance available for each page – click on the ‘page help’ link in the top-right corner of your screen.
Q. “Is my data safe and secure?”
A. Yes. In order to access your data, you need to log in using a combination of company name, user ID, and password. The server itself is secure, and we take regular backups. You can also make your own personal backup of your data, as often as you like, by downloading copies of it to your hard drive.
Q. “Will VibeCalc email me when someone exceeds their HAVS limit?”
A. No. You and your colleagues have to log in, to get access to management reports.
Q. “Can I buy it to install ‘locally’ on my desktop computer or laptop, for a one-off payment?”
A. VibeCalc is based on the ‘Software-As-A-Service’ model, or SAAS. You don’t install anything on your computer, it’s all done via a browser. The point being, you and your colleagues can access it from anywhere, on any kind of device (smartphone, PC, Apple Mac, tablet, etc). We don’t sell a version for ‘local’ offline access only. See our pricing page.
Q. “I have an asset which doesn’t have a known manufacturer / model. How do I categorise it, because VibeCalc needs me to allocate all assets with a manufacturer, and a model?”
A. You should create a new manufacturer and model, identical to the ‘type’ of asset. For example, if it’s an unidentifiable jack-hammer, the asset ‘type’ might be ‘jackhammer’, so you would make the manufacturer and model ‘jackhammer’ as well.
Q. “What is ToolFleet?”
A. ToolFleet is a ‘Computerised Maintenance Management System’ (CMMS), designed to record, schedule and prioritise your asset servicing, inspections and repairs. ToolFleet and VibeCalc are ‘sister’ applications. If you have already listed your assets in VibeCalc, and also have a subscription to ToolFleet, the assets you set up in VibeCalc will also appear in ToolFleet, and vice versa.
